Well...April went by fast. I've read, planted more seeds, enjoyed some tv time in the evenings and have started walking more. I like writing letters and watching the rabbits in the backyard in the mornings ..that's my exciting life.
Here are two of the larger rabbits who graze as seen from the screen porch.
Watched........ 📺
This month we watched a variety of genres. We finished Shrinking (love that show), season 3 of Colony, season 3 of Blue Lights (a police drama set in Belfast) and started Ted Lasso again as we heard a 4th season was coming out.
Still waiting on For All Mankind to drop all the episodes.

Contemplating
Every once in a while I get restless about the blog format or how often to post. Do I make a schedule? Should I post once a week (ideally that would be good for me) or just stick to Goodreads and post there exclusively?
I think I will post randomly this month and see where that takes me as I have not been joining up with much of the blog hops lately. Just wool gathering here.
Well....that's it for now. End of April, over and out!

Your life sounds just right. I haven't planted seeds, but I did put a few begonias in the pots on our deck. I've been reading, watching tv at night, and going for more walks, too. Getting ready to head out in the rv on the 14th for a couple of weeks. We haven't been out since September! Love seeing those rabbits. Do they bother your plants, though? Or just keep the grass trimmed? :) You did have a good month of reading. 7 books! Anymore, that's a lot in my opinion. As far as blogging, I enjoy your posts, whether about books or your daily life. I tend to just post my reviews and a monthly summary. I have two trips that I haven't written about and I wonder if I should bother. It is fun to go back through my photos and journals, though, to re-live our adventures.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead, Tina! I hope you're enjoying some beautiful weather.
Les, I appreciate your thoughts. As I realized I wasn't linking up with big blog hops it made me evaluate how I want to spend my time on this online journal.
DeleteApril was a good reading month for me. It helped that the nonfiction had my total attention and they weren't huge books.
The rabbits would eat veggies but they don't mess about with the flowers. Our neighbor had her yard fenced with wood so it's comppletely sealed off as she grows vegetables.
It's nice seeing the rabbits. I could watch them all morning, lol. You had a good month of shows & books. Two long novels too. I sort of like keeping myself to posting once a week ... as otherwise I'd let weeks go by with no posting or rhyme or reason. But you should do what feels natural to you. It shouldn't feel like a chore etc. But I like reading your posts and what you're into. The more the merrier. Enjoy your May books.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, I love watching the rabbits, particularly when they jump up and down at one another. Guess it's a mating ritual. We did see a tiny rabbit the other day, they are fast.
DeleteMy reading was good because I was fortunate enough to have some very good books, those whcih held my interest. If I had to pick favorites I'd go with Raising Hare for the nonfiction and Buckeye and Far-Flung Life for the fictions. This month I will get to some good books and see how the library holds come in as well.
Thanks for your thoughts about the blogging. You are correct, it's shouldn't be a chore, and isn't right now. But in the past I have quit then missed it, then started a new blog. I am definitely not planning to take that route again!
The Red Sauce, Brown Sauce book is good, but not as enaging as some other nonfictions. That said, I like reading about the different areas in the British Isles and the food is making me hungry. The cycling part is interesting in regard to the miles she puts on via her bike.
I'm currently listening to Raising Hare. Someone said that the audiobook was good, so I tried it. It's working for me!
ReplyDeleteJoy, I'm happy you are enjoying it. I found it to be one I couldn't put down and learned much. There were passages closer to the end that reminded me of James Rebanks Pastoral Song about appreciating nature allowing it to flourish naturally.
DeleteYou did have a very good month, and watching rabbits is about my speed!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know a new season of Ted Lasso is coming. In a way, I'm disappointed--much as I loved the show, I felt the story arc to be complete. So many shows don't know when to quit, and so call me skeptical.
I like everything I've read by Anna Quinlan, so I should put More Than Enough on my list.
Jane, I have added quite a few of Quindlen's titles to my list as I did like this one. I've heard from bookish friends her nonfcition is very good.
DeleteI do agree Ted Lasso ended on a great note, went out on a high note wrapping it up. Loving this rewatch of it and we are amost done. That said, this is a new story about him coaching women's soccer/football. Hope it's as good as the original.
Yes, love the rabbits and I got another photo this morning of this very large one near the porch door. I think we see more rabbits here in this neighborhood than we did when we lived rural for 33 years.
I haven't read any of your books but someone said I would like Wild Dark Shore which was our Six Degrees of Separation starter this month:
ReplyDeletehttps://momobookblog.blogspot.com/2026/05/six-degrees-of-separation-wild-dark.html
But I have watched the first season of Shrinking and 1-3 of Ted Lasso and can't wait to watch the next ones. Such great shows.
Marianne, Hope you like Wild Dark Shore. I found each little twist to be a surprise. I wasn't as crazy about her book Migrations.
DeleteWe love Shrinking and I hope the next season is just as good as these others.
We hope that, as well. And thanks for your good wishes.
DeleteWe have a family of bunnies that lives in the treeline around our house and I love looking out my office window and seeing them! I have Ted Lasso on my list to watch but right now we are still finishing up Death in Paradise. I'm not sure we will ever finish that one! I've also gotten sucked into a few British genealogy type shows which isn't helping. Thank you for the card! I'm very much enjoying birthday month!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, I bet you love watching the rabbits. They are so skiddish and I try not to scare ours when I get photos. The ones taken through the screen aren't great picks but if I open a door they run away - fast!
DeleteWhat British genealogy show are you watching? I may like that. Glad your card arrived - happy birthday month!!
Your days sound lovely to me!
ReplyDeleteYou could just do an ‘all in one’ post every week or even every two weeks using a quick fill format similar to this post eg life update, watching, read/reading, a review or link to review if you have it etc. And then you can link to a Sunday Salon/Post meme or not
Shelleyrae, thank you, I appreciate your thoughts very much. Sometimes I get in a funk butu I always come back to the blogging. Addictive I suppose. The Classic Club Spin was just annunced so I think I'll try and accomplish that post.
DeleteLoved your post about flowers on books and the older characters, I have added a few of those titles.
The bunnies!! We have had so many rabbits around here this year too. Although now I am nervous about the poor things with so many cats around now too!!
ReplyDeleteErin, we have two regualrs in the yard and now a smaller one has been joining them. Yesterday I tossed some spinach out for them, over the wire fence.
DeleteThis does sound like a very good and very productive month. I really do need to get Raising Hare. I love those bunnies in your yard. They must feel safe there. As for blogging, there are no rules. Post when you like, when you have time, when you have something to say! It should be fun, not a "job." (My two cents on it!) Thanks for coming by!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, I apprecite you weighing in as I like the blogging but sometimes I just don't want to do it. We all need a break here and there. Oh, the rabbits are so cute and we have seen a few different ones grazing in the yard. Different sizes and a few have notable colors different from the others so, we know we have at least 3 different visitors.
