There are so many titles in this category that I love. I just started 1984 today. I finished Ursula K. LeGuin's The Lathe of Heaven this afternoon. On the Beach is a story I thought was well written. Others I've read and enjoyed include Fahrenheit 451; The Handmaid's Tale; Ender's Game; Ready Player One; Parable of the Sower; A Canticle for Leibowitz; and Earth Abides. I'm writing down most of the books on your list for future reading.
