Monday Mailbox is hosted by Vicki at I'd Rather Be at the Beach. This is a weekly event to share books we added to our collections.
Last week I bought Picnic at Hanging Rock by Joan Lindsay for the Classic Club Spin and started it a few days ago.
From the library I received Time of The Child by Niall Williams for Kindle checkout and hope to get to it before it's due back.
Did you get any books this week? Check out Monday Mailbox to see who linked up this week.

I think I tried the Niall Williams book on audio, but I put it down in the winter -- I think I needed the print version. Sometimes that happens. I might get to Picnic at Hanging Rock sometime. I have a slew of novels in print from the library and wont get to too many this time around. Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I hope to get to the Niall Williams book by Friday, maybe wishful thinking, but that's my goal. I completely understand about the stack of books and what I usually do is see how long the wait list is, tackle that one first.
DeleteI've never heard of Picnic at Hanging Rock. Will need to check it out. Love the cover of Time of the Child. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Cheryl. I am enjoying the Hanging Rock book so far.
DeleteI hope you enjoy both books. Have a good week!

Thank you, Mary.
DeleteLooking forward to reading Time of the Child! It sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like Time of the Child. Sorry I didn't comment yesterday, my arm and shoulder are still being a pain. Today it's slightly better.
ReplyDeleteVicki, I sure hope you get some relief soon. Maybe a heating pad on the shoulder? I am looking forward to starting Time of the Child after my current book.
DeleteI've been putting Bengay on it and taking Tylenol and they help but have been thinking about using a heating pad. I'll have to ask my son to get it for me since it's in the hall closset in our medical kit.
DeleteI sure hope that helps. It's probably like a toothache where it's so present in your life you can't ignore it. Ugh.
DeleteI didn't get any new books last week, but I hope to make it to the library to pick some up soon.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I am getting some in the mail this upcoming week so that's something to look forward to. My library is now under a mile from the house!
DeleteI haven't heard of either of these but I'm curious to see your thoughts on both of them. Good luck on your Classics Club spin! I'm thinking of heading to a local used bookstore tomorrow. It just changed owners so I feel like I should go support it - and I want more books!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, it's always good to support the local bookstores, I need to look for some in my area now. I started the Time of the Child and it's going to be a DNF for me.
