Paris in July

Paris in July would be lovely.  I visited many decades ago but it wasn't in July.  So much to see, experience, taste and enjoy.  I will be enjoying things French and particularly Parisian from home instead of in person, getting creative cooking, reading and visiting others for inspiration.

Paris in July is hosted by Emma at Words and Peace.  Check out the info for joining in HERE.

Some things I have on tap are Hemingway's A Moveable Feast,  a few French recipes, DeBussy's music for one of our listening evenings, and a couple of novels set in France.

If you are joining in let me know what titles or subjects you have in mind.  This will be a fun activity for hot old July here :-)

  1. I participated in this reading challenge several years ago, but now I tend to focus on the Summer Reading Challenge. I should keep an eye out for books set in Paris and set them aside for 2026. Have fun!

    1. Les, I was going to focus on classics but this sounds like fun so I thought, why not. We have started with music this week and now I have a French ex-pat book to start.

  3. I think A Moveable Feast is a good one for Paris in July. I'm trying to think of another fun book set in France ... maybe Tout Sweet ... or a Year in Provence ... oldies but goodies. Enjoy your days mind traveling to France, lol.

    1. Susan, I've started a few things and last night we listened to music. Afternoon in Paris is a great old recording. Post coming up. Thanks for your email and have a safe trip to the tournament. Chat soon.

  4. I loved reading Moveable Feast. I look forward to seeing you trying some of the French recipes. I especially hope you try croissants and can give me some pointers!

    1. Deb, I've made a baguette but not sure I will attempt croissants! I do have some good recipes from two of my French cookbooks.

  5. I read Moveable Feast in college and didn't enjoy it but I was 20 and had an intense schedule so I'm thinking I should pick it up again. Paris in July sounds wonderful and I'm looking forward to seeing all the Paris things you do!

    1. Katherine, I can see where this wouldn't appeal back then but I just finished and liked it. Such a great snapshot of history from that era.
