This past month has been a good one for me reading, armchair traveling and a few days with our Nebraska granddaughter.
I joined in on the Paris in July at Words and Peace. Prepared many French dishes HERE and read books with the French theme which were new to me. Much thanks to Emma at Word and Peace for hosting this event.
✔ Read two from my Classics Club list - A Moveable Feast and Picnic at Hanging Rock.
✔ Completed another nonfiction for Shelleyrae's Nonfiction Reader Challenge - Hidden Libraries
🤔 Learning about streaming and Internet after living rural for 33 years. Wow. What a world that's been opened for us.
My granddaughter is in town visiting her mother so we've been able to get some visiting in, go for some lunches and school shopping. Fun stuff.
Armchair travel took me to France, England, Australia, Maine and all over the globe thanks to Hidden Libraries.
And now it's August...July went by so quickly. Hope you had a good month of reading and joyful experiences.

Your French dish looks delish, I haven't used my red Dutch oven in a while. Time to get out the cookbooks!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Harvee. I love that Dutch oven, it gets a lot of use.
DeleteI can only imagine learning about streaming and the internet as a whole in today’s age. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your granddaughter and that August brings you everything and more.
ReplyDeleteThanks very much, Jodie. It has been a great learning curve but we are loving streaming.
DeleteI also enjoy Hidden Libraries, it was such a fascinating book! Sounds like a pretty good month.
ReplyDeleteCindy, wasn't that a cool book? There are some places I'd love to see.
DeleteI'm really curious about Hidden Libraries, I've seen it in a couple of places lately, like the world's trying to tell me something!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good week!
Nicky, I got it from the library so maybe yours has a copy as well.
DeleteI'll bet you're having a great time getting some visits in with your granddaughter! Ours arrives later this month. We haven't seen her since my daughter's (her aunt) wedding in 2019. Long overdue for a visit! We can hardly wait.
ReplyDeleteLes, it was good to see her after a few months. Not sure when we can get to Nebraska again but we made the ,ost of the tme while she is here visiting her mother. That's a long time for you seeing your granddaughter! They cahnge so much in a few years.
DeleteI'm so glad that you are enjoying all the wonders of the Internet now that you have access. And it's great you have gotten to enjoy time with your granddaughter. We spent time with our last week and next week we will visit the other grandkids.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what book you will read next from your classics list!
Deb, I sure wish they were a more reasonable driving distance or we would see them more. Our son misses her but he gets her the end of this week. He has to take her school shopping and get things ready for the new school year.
DeleteShe may be back to visit her mom again on a holiday though so we can see her again.
Yes, the Internet access has opened up a new world. Wow.
I'm so glad you're having a great July after all your packing / selling / moving stress.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jinjer!
DeleteSo glad you joined us this year!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Emma. It was wonderful and I have so many new-to-me titles to check out.
DeleteI enjoyed your Paris in July posts!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
Thank you, Marg. I enjoyed yours as well!
DeleteI'm not even sure July happened here! I really enjoyed your trip to Paris this July. Armchair travel is the best! The rest of your month sounds good too with granddaughter visits and getting to spend time together. I hope you're having a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteKatherine, I agree armchair travel is the best. I thought after retirement we wuld travle extensively but now I can't stand the idea of crowds or air travel. The granddaughter time was good. Only two days of it but good.
DeleteI think I'd like to read Hidden Libraries. Glad you got to spend some time with your granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteVicki, you;d love Hidden Libraries!!
DeleteYou did have a good month of reading and other experiences! You've read some good ones and saw your granddaughter, nice! I'd like to read both of the classics. Happy August reading.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I am off to a decent start on the month for reading so far. I look forward to our buddy read!
