July was a busy month...books, visits and food

This past month has been a good one for me reading, armchair traveling and a few days with our Nebraska granddaughter.

I joined in on the Paris in July at Words and Peace. Prepared many French dishes HERE and read books with the French theme  which were new to me. Much thanks to Emma at Word and Peace for hosting this event.

✔ Read two from my Classics Club list - A Moveable Feast and Picnic at Hanging Rock.

✔ Completed another nonfiction for Shelleyrae's Nonfiction Reader Challenge -  Hidden Libraries

🤔 Learning about streaming and Internet after living rural for 33 years.  Wow.  What a world that's been opened for us.

My granddaughter is in town visiting her mother so we've been able to get some visiting in, go for some lunches and school shopping. Fun stuff.

Armchair travel took me to France, England, Australia, Maine and all over the globe thanks to Hidden Libraries.

And now it's August...July went by so quickly.  Hope you had a good month of reading and joyful experiences.

  1. Your French dish looks delish, I haven't used my red Dutch oven in a while. Time to get out the cookbooks!

  5. I'll bet you're having a great time getting some visits in with your granddaughter! Ours arrives later this month. We haven't seen her since my daughter's (her aunt) wedding in 2019. Long overdue for a visit! We can hardly wait.

  6. I'm so glad that you are enjoying all the wonders of the Internet now that you have access. And it's great you have gotten to enjoy time with your granddaughter. We spent time with our last week and next week we will visit the other grandkids.

I wonder what book you will read next from your classics list!

    1. Deb, I sure wish they were a more reasonable driving distance or we would see them more. Our son misses her but he gets her the end of this week. He has to take her school shopping and get things ready for the new school year.
She may be back to visit her mom again on a holiday though so we can see her again.

Yes, the Internet access has opened up a new world. Wow.

    1. Katherine, I agree armchair travel is the best. I thought after retirement we wuld travle extensively but now I can't stand the idea of crowds or air travel. The granddaughter time was good. Only two days of it but good.
