Food is my inspiration for this week in the Paris in July event hosted by Emma at Words and Peace. Palmiers were on my radar and that made me think about all the other recipes I have prepared from my Williams Sonoma Essentials of French Cooking.
Here are the Sun Dried Tomato and Tapenade Palmiers I made yesterday and the recipe many be found Here on my old food blog.
That made me think of all the other menus we have enjoyed, and continue to prepare, so I will post the links to our favorite recipes from this book. (recipes in the links)
Seared Tuna with Piperade from the Aquitaine region
Sea Scallops in Tangerine Sauce from the Pays-de-la-Loire region. Very tasty.
Steak au Poivre from Lyon - this is on the menu this upcoming week again. So easy.🥖
Here is one I make quite a bit - Chicken Chasseur

All your food looks yummy!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vicki. I like cooking so it's fun trying new recipes too.
DeleteWow. Those Palmiers look fancy! The steak and scallops both look delicious, too.
ReplyDeleteLes, thank you. I'm looking forward to doing those scallops again soon. The Palmiers are easy...next time im doing brown sugar and cinnamon ones..
DeleteAll of your food pictures look delectable! I’m especially drawn to the scallops, but I would also settle for the steak au poivre. Settle meaning “eat immediately!”
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bellezza. I'm with you in the eat immediately when it's a steak meal!
DeleteYummy! I thought palmiers were difficult, so I never tried. I always do a special French meal for big occasions for my husband, like coq au vin, bœuf bourguignon, cassoulet, etc.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Emma, coq au vin is fantastic as is cassoulet. Once we made a cassoulet using duck and it was very good. I'm so glad you host Paris in July I'm having a blast joining in!
DeleteThis all looks so delicious!! We were just talking about making scallops this week, too.
ReplyDeleteJoAnn, thank you. Maybe you can have a good Scallops birthday dinner this week 😁
DeleteEverything looks delicious 😋
ReplyDeleteThanks, Linda!
DeleteGosh dang, Tina!!! I am drooling over all those French foods!!!! Yum!!!! And who knew those palmiers were so easy??? I don't like the tang of a sundried tomato so I wonder what other kinds of palmiers one can make. I'll Google it. Also, I think I have a Williams Sonoma Cookbook! Well, it would've been my sister's, but I'm pretty sure I saw it the other day when I was rooting around in the book closet. I'll have to flip through it and see what recipes are in there!
ReplyDeleteJinjer, look up a recipe to make sweet palmiers. I'm going to do some brown sugar and cinnamon ones next. That puff pastry makes it easy. And it's so buttery and tasty! Can't go wrong with any of the Williams Sonoma.
DeleteOooo cinnamon and sugar my fave!
DeleteEverything looks so amazing!
ReplyDeleteWe have a few French inspired dishes we cook semi-regularly including a French Onion style casserole and a French farmhouse chicken dish!
Thank you, Marg. A French onion casserole has my interest. Please share a recipe as I'm a fan of onions in dishes.
DeleteHere's the recipe. We've made it a few times and it is delicious!

Thank you! I just checked it out and I want to make this. Looks great.
DeleteThe scallops look delicious. I hardly ever buy them since they are so expensive, but I do derly love them.
ReplyDeleteMy recent Paris in July Post: https://headfullofbooks.blogspot.com/2025/07/2025-paris-in-july-deuxieme-partie.html
Anne, they are indeed expensive so it's a rare occasion for us as well. Off to vist your Paris in July post.
DeleteAll those dishes look amazing! Those palmiers make me drool.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jody. Next time I am making swwet Palmiers. I still have some puff pastry left - yea!
DeleteThis all looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Erin. I hope Wyatt is doing well xo
DeleteLots of great recipes for me to look at!! I HATE olives, but will look at making palmiers. I love scallops but never seem to buy them, will fix that.
ReplyDeleteJackie, I remembered you didn;lt like olive but I will always be a good friend and take your share :-) Make a different filling for Palmiers, like a brown sugar cinnamon. Yum!
DeleteOh, my goodness. Look at all those delicious foods. I especially enjoy baking and I have palmiers on my list to try one of these days. Your palmiers sound delightful.
ReplyDeleteDeb, I plan to do more palmiers this week. Love making bread and will probably do more cooking this week in spite of the heat!
DeleteNice post, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy.
DeleteAll the food looks so delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yvonne.
DeleteWell done! I might try to make the chicken ... that one looks up my alley. We went to Provence for our honeymoon ... and the food was wonderful lol. We need to return.
ReplyDeleteSusan, this chicken dish is one of our favorites. Extra mushrooms for us. What a lovely place for your honeymoon, I bet it was beautiful.
