Welcome to your first ever CC Spin - we hope you enjoy it :-)
ReplyDeleteA Room With a View is one of my favourite books (with a fabulous movie to enjoy after you read it). Same goes for Brideshead Revisited, although I came to love it only after seeing the BBC production from the 1980's.
Tess is my favourite Hardy book, although it makes me angry every time I read it. A more gentle heartwarming story would be Goodnight Mister Tom.
Good luck and happy spinninng!
Brona, thanks so much. I am looking forward to all of these books so, whichever number comes up works for me :-) I appreciate your thoughts on my selections.
DeleteSorry if I had a duplicate comment on TCC, wasn't sure if it was moderated and thought I didn't hit submit.
That's okay. We all have our own blogs and moderate the club one as often as we can. During spins I try to pop in every day, but I've ended up working extra shifts this week and it has all got away from me!
DeleteI understand and I think I just didn't pay attention to the "comment will be approved" message as it came up. Some blogs post right away, I also moderate. :-) I appreciate you all!
DeleteThis is my 12th spin and I think they are great fun! I've read four of your books. We both have Brideshead Revisited listed, so maybe one of us will be lucky enough to get it!
ReplyDeleteKelly, that would be great. We could compare notes. I'll have to go to your site and list, see which of our books we have on the list!
DeleteYou have such a good list here. I hope you end up with a delightful choice for the spin. It should be announced any time now.
ReplyDeleteThere are several on your list that I should add to mine.
Thanks, Deb. I will be happy with any of the titles!
DeleteSo, Brideshead Revisited. I remember that one being slyly funny. Of course it's yet another good book that I read and failed to review. Sigh!
DeleteDeb, I see you'll be reading Rome and a Villa :-) Can't imagine when I can do the classic spin but only have a few books lefft like you have. Goals!
DeleteI don't read many classics, but that's a great list. I hope you enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteYvonne, thanks!
DeleteI don’t reach for classics but I love the idea of it. Good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun challenge that I've been meaning to get on for years.
DeleteI think the Spin # is 4 ... according to the Classics site. So perhaps you are on for some Evelyn Waugh. Enjoy. It's been a while since I recall that one .... so I might need to reread myself.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I just saw the post on TCC and yup...I will be reading Brideshead Revisited. As I have until April I am going to finish up the books I have going first. The library has a Kindle version I can check out but I am #3 on the holds list. that should still work out.
DeleteI keep thinking I should read some classics but then I don't. I'm going now to add some to my list so I won't forget to read them.
ReplyDeleteVicki, if it wasn't a five year goal I may not have signed up. I can do this in five years!
DeleteI am contemplating joining the Classics Spin. Not sure what books I will add to my list though, so if I don't end up doing that, I won't be spinning right?
ReplyDeleteMarg, nope...you won't be spinning, haha!
DeleteSo many good ones on here. My copy of All Quiet on the Western Front is the same copy I have had for 30 years. It is near falling apart from how many times I read it back then.
ReplyDeleteErin, I am looking forward to that one as I haven't read it in decades.
